College Basketball 2015, Week Thirteen!

127The Spartans bounced back this week to defeat Rutgers on the road and then defeated Michigan at home in overtime to remain tied for second place in the Big Ten, woohoo! Following a Virginia loss to Duke, there is now only one (1) undefeated team in the AP top twenty-five (25): the top-ranked Wildcats of Kentucky.  The Big Ten Conference has 3 teams ranked in the top-25: Wisconsin (#5), Maryland (#17) and Ohio State (#20).  Next up for the Spartans this week, at home against Illinois (Saturday),  and then on the road against Northwestern (Tuesday).  Go Green!

The upsets among the top-25 this week included:
Virginia (#2) losing to Duke (#4) by six (6) points.
Duke (#4) losing to Notre Dame (#8) by four (4) points.
Notre Dame (#8) losing to unranked Pittsburgh by four points.
Utah (#11) losing to unranked UCLA.
Wichita State (#12) losing to Northern Iowa (#18).
VCU (#14) losing to unranked Richmond.
West Virginia (#15) losing to Oklahoma (#21).
Maryland (#16) losing to unranked Ohio State.
Texas (#19) losing to Baylor (#20).
Indiana (#22) losing to unranked Purdue.
Miami (#23) losing to unranked Georgia Tech.
Miami (#23) losing to Florida State by only one (1) point.

The close calls (wins by six points or less [two scores] or in overtime) among the top-25 this week included:
Kansas (#9) defeating unranked TCU by only three (3) points.
Louisville (#10) defeating North Carolina (#13) in overtime.
Butler (#25) defeating unranked Marquette in overtime.

The losses to higher-ranked teams among the top-25 this week included:
Iowa State (#11) losing to Kansas (#8).
North Carolina (#13) losing to Louisville (#10) in overtime.
North Carolina (#12) losing to Virginia (#3).
