College Basketball 2015, Week Eighteen!

127The Michigan State Spartans bounced back this week with wins in a couple of hard fought and physical battles: at home against Purdue followed by a road victory against Indiana!  The Wildcats of Kentucky finished their conference regular season as the only undefeated men’s team Division 1 college basketball; the Big Ten Conference only has two teams ranked in the top-25: Wisconsin (#6) and Maryland (#8).  Next up for the Spartans this week: The Big Ten Tournament where the Spartans earned a double bye and don’t have to play until Friday night where they will face either Rutgers, Minnesota, or Ohio State.  Go Green!

The upsets among the top-25 this week included:
Virginia (#2) losing to Louisville (#16) by only two (2) points.
Wichita State (#8) losing to unranked Illinois State by only three (3) points.
Kansas (#9) losing to Oklahoma (#16) by only two (2) points.
Utah (#13) losing to unranked Washington.
Arkansas (#18) losing to unranked LSU by only three (3) points.
Murray State (#25) losing to unranked Belmont by only one (1) point.

The close calls (wins by six points or less [two scores] or in overtime) among the top-25 this week included:
Maryland (#10) defeating unranked Nebraska by only three (3) points.
Baylor (#14) defeating unranked Texas Tech by only three (3) points.
Arkansas (#18) defeating unranked South Carolina by only four (4) points.
SMU (#22) defeating unranked Tulsa by five (5) points.
Murray State (#25) defeating unranked Morehead State by only three (3) points.

The losses to higher-ranked teams among the top-25 this week included:
Louisville (#16) losing to Notre Dame (#12).
North Carolina (#19) losing to Duke (#3).
Ohio State (#23) losing to Wisconsin (#6).
Providence (#24) losing to Butler (#21) by four (4) points.
