College Football 2015, Week Two!

127The second week of the season showcased the first premiere top-ten match-up of the season when the Oregon Ducks (#7) visited East Lansing to face the Spartans (#5).  The Spartans survived the high-powered offense of the Ducks to win by three points.   The current AP poll has two Big Ten teams listed in the top [twenty-] five: Ohio State (#1) and Michigan State (#5); next up for the Spartans: the Falcons of the Air Force Academy.  Go Green!

The upsets this week included:
Arkansas (#18) losing to unranked Toledo by four (4) points.
Boise State (#20) losing to unranked BYU.

The close calls this week (games that were won by a touchdown or less) included:
Michigan State (#5) defeating Oregon (#7) by only three (3) points.
Auburn (#6) defeating unranked Jacksonville State by seven (7) points in overtime.
Notre Dame (#9) defeating unranked Virginia by seven (7) points (in the closing seconds).
LSU (#14) defeating Mississippi State (#25) by only two (2) points.
Oklahoma (#18) defeating Tennessee (#23) by seven (7) points in double overtime.
Missouri (#21) defeating unranked Arkansas State by seven (7) points.

Top-25 match-ups won by the higher-ranked team included:
Oregon (#7) losing to Michigan State (#5).
Tennessee (#23) losing to Oklahoma (#18) in double overtime.
Mississippi State (#25) losing to LSU (#14).
