Are You Up On Your Collective Nouns?!

When it comes to the collective nouns for animals, there are the standard ones that everyone seems to know and can rattle off the tops of their heads . . .

  • pride of lions
  • covey of quail
  • herd of cattle
  • pack of wolves
  • flock of sheep

But then there are others that are so unique you would never guess them in a million years.  Here are some of my favorites . . .

  • congregation of alligators
  • dazzle of zebras
  • memory of elephants
  • cackle of hyenas
  • bloat of hippos
  • crash of rhinos
  • intrusion of cockroaches

Checkout this link for a list of additional examples.  What are some of your favorites?
