When it comes to appreciating art, I would have to admit to being partial to landscapes. Some of my favorite artists to paint landscapes would include Monet, Turner, Moran, and Bierstadt. And on this, the anniversary of Albert Bierstadt‘s birth, here is my favorite Bierstadt painting: Valley of the Yosemite. Due to his prolific painting of mountains and landscapes, he even had a mountain named in his honor in Colorado. Mount Bierstadt, a fourteener (more than 14,000 feet in elevation) is located in the Mount Evans Wilderness of Pike National Forest, and is about 1.4 miles southwest of Mount Evans and 43.8 miles southwest of downtown Denver.
