Let The Madness Begin!

127March Madness has arrived!  And, following a week of turmoil and upsets among the conference tournaments, the selection committee announced the field for the NCAA Tournament yesterday. Michigan State was able to win the Big Ten Conference Tournament, garnered a #2 seed in the Midwest regional, and will face Middle Tennessee State  in the first round on Friday.  Go Green!    Here is a list of the ranked teams that did not win their conference championships.

Villanova (#3) lost to Seton Hall (NR) by two (2) points in the Big East final.
Virginia (#4) lost to North Carolina (#7) by four (4) points in the ACC final.
Xavier (#5) lost to Seton Hall (NR) by four (4) points in the Big East semifinals.
Oklahoma (#6) lost to West Virginia (#9) by two (2) points in the Big Twelve quarterfinals.
West Virginia (#9) lost to Kansas (#1) in the Big Twelve final.
Indiana (#10) lost to Michigan (NR) by three points in the Big Ten quarterfinals.
Miami (#11) lost to Virginia (#4) by five (5) points in the ACC semifinals.
Utah (#12) lost to Oregon (#8) in the PAC-Twelve final.
Purdue (#13) lost to Michigan State (#2) by four points (4) in the Big Ten final.
Arizona (#15) lost to Oregon (#8) by six (6) points in the PAC-Twelve seminfinals.
Texas A&M (#17) lost to Kentucky (#16) by five (5) points in the SEC final.
Maryland (#18) lost to Michigan State (#2) by three (3) points in the Big Ten semifinals.
Duke (#19) lost to Notre Dame (NR) by five points in overtime in the ACC quarterfinals.
Iowa (#20) lost to Illinois (NR) by two points in the 2nd round of the Big Ten tournament.
Iowa State (#21) lost to Oklahoma (#6) by three (3) points in the Big Twelve quarterfinals.
Baylor (#22) lost to Kansas (#1) by four (4) points in the Big Twelve quarterfinals.
Texas (#23) lost to Baylor (#22) in the Big Twelve quarterfinals.
California (#24) lost to Utah (#12) by four (4) points in the PAC-Twelve seminfinals.
