College Basketball 2017, Week Thirteen!

The Michigan State inconsistency continues losing to Purdue early in the week, but finding a way to win against the Wolverines yesterday.   The Big Ten only has three (3)  teams currently in the AP top-25: Wisconsin (#15), Purdue (#20),  and Maryland (#22).  Gonzaga (#3) is the only undefeated team remaining among the top-25 in a week that was fraught with upsets and close calls among the top-25.

Next up for the Spartans: on the road at Nebraska (Thursday).    Go Green!

The upsets this week included:
Villanova (#1) losing to unranked Marquette by two (2) points.
Kansas (#2) losing to West Virginia (#18).
Kentucky (#4) losing to unranked Tennessee by two (2) points.
Florida State (#6) losing to unranked Georgia Tech.
Florida State (#6) losing to unranked Syracuse.
UCLA(#8) losing to unranked USC.
North Carolina (#9) losing to unranked Miami.
Oregon (#10) losing to unranked Colorado.
Butler (#11) losing to unranked Georgetown.
Notre Dame (#14) losing to unranked Georgia Tech two (2) points.
Creighton (#16) losing to unranked Georgetown
Duke (#17) losing to unranked NC State by two (2) points.
Purdue (#20) losing to unranked Nebraska by three (3) points.

The close calls this week (won by six points or less [two scores] or in overtime) included:
Wisconsin (#15) defeating unranked Rutgers in overtime.
Duke (#17) defeating unranked Wake Forest by two (2) points.
West Virginia (#18) defeating unranked Texas A&M by four (4) points.

Top-25 match-ups won by the higher-ranked team included:
Villanova (#1) defeating Virginia (#12) by two (2) points.
Kansas (#2) defeating Kentucky (#4) by six (6) points.
Baylor (#5) defeating unranked Texas Tech by four (4) points.
Baylor (#5) defeating unranked Ole Miss by three (3) points.
Oregon (#10) defeating unranked Utah by six (6) points.
Virginia (#12) defeating Notre Dame (#14).
Cincinnati (#19) defeating Xavier (#24).
