College Basketball 2017, Week Fifteen!

The Spartans managed to split their games this week (losing at Michigan but winning at home against Iowa).  Still a lot of work to be done before the end of the season if the Spartans want to make the dance.  The Big Ten only has three (3)  teams currently in the AP top-25: Wisconsin (#7), Purdue (#16),  and Maryland (#21).  Gonzaga (#1) continues its perfect season and remains the only undefeated team among the top-25.

Next up for the Spartans: at home against Ohio State (Tuesday) then on the road against Purdue (#21).    Go Green!

The upsets this week included:
Louisville (#4) losing to Virginia (#12).
Oregon (#5) losing to UCLA (#10) by three (3) points.
Wisconsin (#7) losing to unranked Northwestern.
North Carolina (#8) losing to Duke (#18).
Cincinnati (#11) losing to SMU (#25).
Vriginia (#12) losing to unranked Virginia Tech by two (2) points in double overtime.
Florida State (#14) losing to unranked Notre Dame.
South Carolina (#19) losing to unranked Alabama by four (4) points in quadruple overtime.
Maryland (#21) losing to unranked Penn State by six (6) points.
Butler (#22) losing to unranked Providence by six (6) points.

The close calls this week (won by six points or less [two scores] or in overtime) included:
Kansas (#3) defeating unranked Kansas State by three (3) points.
Kansas (#3) defeating unranked Texas Tech by one (1) point.
Louisville (#4) defeating unranked Miami by five (5) points.
Baylor (#6) defeating unranked Oklahoma State by three (3) points.
Wisconsin (#7) defeating unranked Nebraska by one (1) point in overtime.
Arizona (#9) defeating unranked Cal by five (5) points.
Purdue (#16) defeating unranked Indiana by five (5) points.
Duke (#18) defeating unranked Clemson by two (2) points.
South Carolina (#19) defeating unranked Mississippi State by four (4) points.
Butler (#22) defeating unranked Marquette by three (3) points.

Top-25 match-ups won by the higher-ranked team included:
