Winter Enthusiast!

February 17, 2018

Happy Saturday!  We may be on the downside of the winter season (and spring is officially a little more than a month away), but we are smack dab in the middle of the Winter Olympics so here is a great infographic that shows the number of calories that can be burned by the various Winter Olympic sports.    Hmm, snow shoveling made the list . . . I wasn’t aware that this was an Olympic sport.  Enjoy!

Happy New Year, 2018!

January 1, 2018

Growing up, New Year’s Day meant you watched the Tournament of Roses Parade in the morning and then settled in for a day of college football games culminating with the “granddaddy of them all,” the Rose Bowl.   Obviously, flowers are the key ingredient for the floats in the parade and the rules are clear: “It is a rule of the parade that all surfaces of the float framework must be covered in natural materials (such as flowers, plants, seaweeds, seeds, bark, vegetables, or nuts, for example); furthermore, no artificial flowers or plant material are allowed, nor can the materials be artificially colored.”  Marching Bands are another key component of the parade and only a select few are chosen each year (and the competition is spirited).  So, keeping with the “flower theme,” here is an infographic on “flower power.”  Enjoy!  Happy New Year!

Again, let’s put things into perspective!   Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving 2017!

November 23, 2017

Did you know that Turkey Trots are the most popular races in America?  Did you also know that eating that large Thanksgiving Day meal can cause you to gain a full pound in one day and consume more than 4,000 calories?  Here’s an infographic to show you how long you would have to run to burn off some of these calories.  Enjoy!

How Does the Earth Match-up?!

October 11, 2017

Last month I shared an infographic that showed the Earth’s scale from the tallest mountaintop to the deepest ocean trench.  This month, let’s take a look (courtesy of yet another stunning infographic) at the size of the Earth and how it compares to other planets and stars in the universe.  Yet another lesson in perspective.  Enjoy!

How About a Little Scale/Perspective?!

September 13, 2017

To truly understand where and how we fit into this world, here’s an infographic that will hopefully shed some light on the scale of the earth (from the tallest mountain to the deepest ocean trench).  Enjoy!
