Here is an amazing performance (Beethoven) by a three-year-old prodigy! Wow.

Happy Friday! I never tire of listening to the wonderful music of The Piano Guys. Here is a version of “This is Your Fight” song. And the scenery is not too bad either. Enjoy!
Johann Pachelbel . . . [while we know he was born in 1653 (in Nuremberg, Germany), we don’t know the exact date of birth — but he was baptized on September 1st — so today will have to do] . . . was considered one of the most important composers of the middle Baroque era as well as one of the great organ masters of the generation before Johann Sebastian Bach. Of course, my favorite piece would be the Canon in D Major. . . enjoy!
Whether you’ve seen the movie or not, anything “touched” by the Piano Guys is pure joy! Here is their rendition of the Jurassic Park Theme song. I keep waiting on the T-Rex to make an appearance and eat them . . . hmm, perhaps the music is to soothing (taming the savage beast), that he is merely enjoying it as well.
I truly love The Piano Guys! Here there are doing their rendition of a Charlie Brown medley (a la Vince Guaraldi). If this doesn’t get you in a good mood, then nothing will. Happy Tuesday!
I have longed admired and enjoyed the music of the Piano Guys. Here is a version of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy utilizing four men, three minutes, two cellos, and one piano. Enjoy!
Here’s the solo cadenza for the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 in G performed by highly gifted pianist Lang Lang. Lang has been heralded as “the hottest artist on the classical music planet” by the New York Times. Did you know that he was inspired to learn how to play the piano by the Tom and Jerry cartoon “The Cat Concerto?” Enjoy!
Here’s a topic that is near and dear to my heart. Pianos are musical instruments when played as well as fine pieces of furniture when not played. I have never considered a piano a toy . . . but the Goops do!
Pianos are considered toys
By Goops, and naughty girls and boys;
They pound upon the keys,
They lift the cover up, on top,
To see the little jiggers hop,
And both the pedals squeeze!
But instruments so rich and fine
(Especially if they’re not mine)
I ought to treat with care;
So when my elder sister plays
She’ll find it is in tune always,
Nor injured anywhere!

Okay, more Vivaldi than “Bourne,” but still an awesome performance. I’m a huge fan of the Jason Bourne movies and a huge fan of the Piano Guys, so it stands to reason that this rendition would be win-win! I was not disappointed in the least. These guys are really talented and they always come up with great ideas to keep it interesting. And they always look like they are having so much fun — truly inspirational. Enjoy!
The Piano Guys have set out to film and/or perform in front of all Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Their first stop was: the Great Wall of China . . . not too shabby at all! Here they are at the next stop on their list: Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janiero. I’m a huge fan of these guys. To learn more, check out their webpage. Happy Friday, and I hope you have a great weekend.
