Michigan State was home this week hosting the Terrapins of Maryland. The Spartans offense was sluggish (especially after MSU QB Connor Cook left the game with an injury), but the defense forced several turnovers and the Spartans came away with the victory. At the end of the games this week only five of the top-25 teams remain unbeaten (Clemson, Ohio State, Iowa, Oklahoma State, and Houston). The Big Ten still has six (6) teams represented in the College Football Playoff standings (Ohio State [#3], Iowa [#5], Michigan State [#13], Michigan [#14], Northwestern [#18], and Wisconsin [#25]. And with all of the upsets this week, the standings should shake up a bit.

LSU (#9) losing to unranked Arkansas.
Utah (#10) losing to unranked Arizona by seven (7) points in double overtime.
UCLA (#19) losing to unranked Washington State by four (4) points.
Memphis (#21) losing to Houston (#24) by one (1) point.
Temple (#22) losing to unranked South Florida.

Oklahoma State (#8) defeating unranked Iowa State by four (4) points.
Michigan (#14) defeating unranked Indiana by seven (7) points in double overtime.

Northwestern (#18) defeating unranked Purdue by seven (7) points.
