College Basketball 2023, Week Sixteen!

February 27, 2023

The Spartans started the week out with a huge home win over #17 Indiana on Tuesday. The Spartans came out a little sluggish at the start of the game and found themselves down by nine (9) points early, but rallied before the end of the half to build a six-point lead and never trailed again. Huge, emotional win for the Green and White. Michigan State then traveled to Iowa on Saturday . . . what a game, what a heartbreaking loss in overtime on the road. The Spartans were ahead by double-digits (11 points) with 55 second remaining when Iowa hit enough shots, including five (5) three-point shots, to force overtime. The Hawkeyes then pulled away to a six-point victory in overtime. Simply heartbreaking: the Spartans scored 106 points (highest offensive output of the year), shot 59.3% from the field overall (32/54), 73.3% from 3 (11/15), and 86.1% from the free throw line (31/36) . . . Narwhal!

February 23, 2023

Here is a stone sculpture that I was able to acquire back in the summer of 2021 while vacationing in the Traverse City (Michigan) area. This is a beautiful piece of Inuit art I found in the Museum Store at the Dennos Museum. The artist: Kakee Neogeosak (Cape Dorset artist), the title: Narwhal, the medium: stone carving. It stands 10.5″ tall and is perfectly balanced. When it comes to my collection, I now have five (5) prints and eight (8) sculptures, but I am certainly not going to be slowing down in my acquisitions any time soon.

Rode his steed back and forth in the lobby:
When the clerk said: “Indoors
Is no place for a horse”
He replied: “But, you see, it’s my hobby.”
